in my absence

At one point out there it was looking a lot like a huge pile of earth, a six ton pile of stones, a pile of sand and a pile of bricks.  Wait no, that’s exactly what it looked like.  Whilst looking out the window in the wee hours contemplating what had to happen to that lot, our annual stock of wood  arrived, in a shower of rain naturally pff..  Our shovelling muscles got worked to the max that weekend, well, all our muscles did really but we were more than motivated to put the mud days behind us and, my god, it was WORTH IT!  M might be missing her muddy puddles to stir but her Mamma’s looking at the upcoming winter of rain and snow with a lot more optimism and she keeps hearing the theme tune to antiques road show when she walks up to the house.
